What we do
CoverWise publishes plain-English guides to car, health, life, home and pet insurance for shoppers in the United States and the United Kingdom. Insurance is one of the most expensive things households buy — and one of the least understood. We exist to close that gap.
How our guides are researched
- We start from primary sources: insurer rate filings, state insurance department publications, government resources (like HealthCare.gov) and regulatory data.
- We cross-check pricing claims against multiple industry reports before publishing numbers.
- Every guide is reviewed and updated regularly — insurance pricing and rules change every year.
- When we mention a specific company, it's because their pricing, discounts or features are genuinely notable — never because they paid us to appear.
How we make money
CoverWise is free to read. We earn money in two ways:
- Advertising — display ads shown on our pages.
- Affiliate commissions — if you click a link and buy a policy, we may earn a commission from the provider at no extra cost to you.
Our rule is simple: recommendations come first, revenue second. A commission never decides what we write, and we disclose the relationship on every page where it applies.
What we're not
We are not an insurance company, broker or agent. We don't sell policies and we can't give personal financial advice. Our guides are educational — for decisions about your specific situation, speak with a licensed professional. See our Disclaimer.
